Base Nautica Flavio Gioia and the SUPERYACHT DIVISION: a Project turned into Reality

Last year I had the pleasure of being invited to Blu Med to discuss the potential and positive economic impact of opening up the Gulf of Gaeta to the Superyacht segment.

A year on, despite the unfavourable events that have affected us all, I can only be proud to see that the ‘Super Yacht Division’ project, in which the Base Nautica Flavio Gioia Marina has strongly believed and of which we are promoters and Legal Counsel, has finally taken shape and concreteness.

A few days ago, at the Marina’s Shipyard Division the refit operations began on the Explorer MMM, a motor yacht launched by the Dutch Amels Shipyards in 1993, 49.20 metres long and 630 tons, with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, designed by Terence Disdale Design for the exteriors and Peter Marino for the interiors, one of the first yachts with diesel-electric propulsion and a hangar for helicopters.

We were on board and filmed the moment of docking.
